Handcrafted Ceramic Buttons – 18 mm – Coffee Brown with Blue Speckles | Handmade

These small (~18 mm) buttons are shaped by hand in my farm studio, then fired at high temperature at Le Sacré Atelier in Saint-Germain to ensure strength, durability, and quality. Their coffee-brown finish — highlighted with small blue speckles — gives each button a unique character, both rustic and delicate, perfect for sewing, knitting, wool garments, and slow-fashion creations.

Durability & care

All buttons are kiln-fired and glazed to achieve stoneware hardness. However, they are not plastic buttons and can break if struck very forcefully against a hard surface (though this is unlikely). Most buttons are quite lightweight (slightly heavier than plastic ones) and do not distort knitwear. Larger buttons are naturally heavier than smaller ones.

They are washable and unaffected by water or detergents. Machine washing is possible — a delicate cycle is recommended. Knits, of course, are best washed by hand. Air-drying is advised to prevent the buttons from hitting the metal drum of the dryer.
